Lee Sharpe in "Charity Lords of the Ring"!
RTE Television has announced the line-up for its new summer entertainment series 'Charity Lords of the Ring' and Red Carpet is thrilled that their client and ex footballing legend Lee Sharpe will be taking part!
Presented by Lucy Kennedy and boxing legend Barry McGuigan, the four-part, week-long series will follow 10 well-known personalities as they train and prepare for bouts against each other.
Other contestants are comedian Alan Shortt, 'Fair City' star MacLean Burke, TV presenter John McGuire and 'Dragon's Den' entrepreneur Sean Gallagher. Joining them will be Joe O'Shea, former GAA star Jack Sheedy, journalist Paul Martin, RTE Young Peoples presenter Rob Ross and Ben Clarke who appeared on the BBC's The Apprentice.
The longer the contestants remain in the competition, the more money their charity will receive through corporate sponsorship. Lee's chosen charity will be his very own charity "Lee Sharpe Soccer Schools". His schools are in the two very diverse communities of South Africa and America, with the South African project directed at under-privileged children. The aim is helping to teach life skills as well as football skills with IT facilities and academic teachers being present in each school. Lee is very passionate about this charity and he not only spent time in the States and South Africa with the children, he also opened new facilities and even showed his incredible commitment to the charity by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise much needed funds. Lee's dedication to this charity is paramount and will be for all to see when he will step into the ring at 'Charity Lords of the Ring"!
'Charity Lords of the Ring' begins on RTE One on Saturday 15 August at 9.30pm and continues on Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Sunday 22 August!
Red Carpet wishes Lee the very best of luck and will be rooting for him every step of the way!!
